Monica Imani (formerly Ten-Kate), widely known as Monica the MediumⓇ, is an evidential spirit medium, certified sound healer, intuitive empath, author, and transformational retreat facilitator devoted to helping women rise and reconnect with their truth, their power, and their divine nature.

Monica first became a household name as the star of the Freeform (formerly ABC Family) original television series Monica the Medium. Her natural warmth, grounded presence, and accuracy as a messenger made her a relatable and trusted voice for those seeking connection with loved ones in Heaven.

She is also the author of the Amazon bestseller, Messages from Above: What Your Loved Ones in Heaven Want You to Know and the creator of The Empath Oracle, a deck designed to support sensitive souls and empaths. She also teaches online courses and workshops for those coming into their own gifts.

Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Northern Virginia, Monica recognized her empathic abilities at a young age. What began as heightened sensitivity to emotions later revealed itself as clear communication through feelings, signs, and symbols from Spirit. Over the past 13 years, she has delivered evidential messages to thousands through live events, digital platforms, and transformational experiences.

Following a life-altering near-death experience in 2023 and a powerful season of sobriety and soul growth, Monica expanded her work beyond mediumship alone. She is now a certified sound healing practitioner, curating immersive vibrational experiences using Crystal Tones Alchemy Singing Bowls and therapeutic sound instruments to support nervous system regulation, emotional release, and energetic alignment.

As the founder and facilitator of luxury Women’s Wellness Retreats in Costa Rica, Monica creates intentional spaces where high-capacity women can reset, reconnect, and rise. Her retreats blend spiritual and intuitive guidance, sound healing, embodiment practices, reflection, adventure, and intentional sisterhood.

These immersive retreats are currently the only opportunity for in-person Messages from Above events with Monica.

At this time, Monica does not offer scheduled private mediumship readings and does not maintain a waitlist. Her focus is now on live group experiences, retreats, group sound healing sessions, and educational offerings that allow her to serve at a larger and more sustainable capacity.

A devoted mother, entrepreneur, and woman of deep faith in Jesus in a non-religious sense, Monica believes healing is both spiritual and practical. Her approach is intuitive yet grounded, expansive yet responsible, sacred yet structured.

At the heart of everything she does is a simple mission: to help women remember who they are. Through every message delivered, every bowl played, every retreat hosted, and every teaching shared, Monica is committed to guiding women back to their strength, their sovereignty, and their relationship with God. Outside of her work, Monica’s greatest joy is being a mother to her four-year-old son. She is deeply committed to fitness, nervous system regulation, mental health advocacy, and inspiring women to rise through adversity with strength, faith, and resilience.
